PS3 Flashing Red Light Fix
Have you ever turned on your Playstation 3 in preparation for a long gaming session but found the ps3 red light flashing? The dreaded ps3 flashing red light is an increasingly common problem.
It is often proceeded by the yellow light of death and it will usually spell the end of your gaming for 6+ weeks and cost you over $200.
But this doesn’t have to be the case anymore, there is now a ps3 flashing red light fix that you can apply from home!
Playstation 3 flashing red light will stop your console from booting altogether and some people have even gone out to buy a new console just so they can continue to play games without having to wait the 6 weeks required to get a repaired machine back from Sony.
This issue affects all models of PS3 and the newer models are no less likely to suffer the ps3 flashing read light than any other.
So what do you do if you have what I have termed the ps3 flashing red light of death? You have a few choices:
A. Send your PS3 back to sony and pay the $200+ price for the repairs. You will be without your machine for over 6 weeks and you will lose all data on your hard drive. This includes saved games, music, photos, movies and games and adds ons you might have installed.
B. Take it to a local repairer in your city if you happen to know where you can find one. Again, you will be without your console for an undetermined amount of time and you my lose your data. Prices for these repairs can vary greatly but are usually around the $150-$250 mark.
C. Buy PS3 Lights Fix guide to repairing almost all PS3 related issues. This will cost $37 for downloadable copies of the guide and videos or $47 + $5 postage for DVD copies that get mailed out to you.
After wasting two lots of $200 plus over 12 weeks without my console, I decided I would try option 3. Option 3 is usually not an option for most people as they assume that you have to be a technology wiz to be able to fix any sort or electronic equipment. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
PS3 Lights Fix gives you access to an exclusive members area that has step by step tutorials for repairs for almost any problem that could inflict your PS3. Their how to guides and HD video tutorials are so easy that a 6 year old could use them. They promise that a fix for the ps3 flashing red light issue will take 1 hour, it took me only 50 minutes.

Because you love your PS3 and have donated a lot of your time and energy to playing the many games that we can all get from stores and from the PlayStation Network, you will have no doubt been aware of what happened to the network in April 2011. The network was shut down because it was believed that an external source had intruded the system and had gotten hold of the personal data of about 77 million people.
So what was taken?
It was not made clear what had been taken exactly; but it was believe that anyone’s name, address, login and password details may be amongst the stolen data; if this wasn’t bad enough there was a possibility that people’s credit card data had been taken as well; all though this has never been confirmed and was deemed unlikely.
You do not have to be too worried about your credit card data though because Sony insisted that all the credit card information had been encrypted which means that only they can see the data and no-one else has access to it; plus they never collected the CSC number (Card Security Code) which is on the back of the card, usually found on the signature strip; the good thing about this is that the CSC is needed to process and verify your transactions and without it there is no point in anyone trying to use your card because they just won’t be successful.
Your Personal Gaming Profile
You know when you log into a came for the very first time and you are asked to create a profile? Well the information you have put in there, be it significant or not; may have been stolen too, so for some there may be a chance that someone could have logged in as them and be playing a game while using your avatar all the while. If this has not happened to you yet then don’t worry because it is not likely to now and the best thing you can do to prevent anyone hacking into your account is to change your password every now and again.
We heard a lot of apologies from Sony, the makers of the PS3 who were and still are very sorry about what has happened. This incident occurred when there were a lot of companies and establishments all around the world finding themselves being compromised thanks to groups of people who thought it was ok to intrude their systems and cause problems for millions of people everywhere.
Sony are now working harder than ever before to make sure that the data we provide them with is kept even more secure so that we no longer have to worry about hacking and intrusions.
Whether or not any of us got any personal details stolen, Sony decided to offer all of us some kind of compensation as a way of saying ‘Sorry’ and an effort to keep us gaming with them. I know a few people who have vowed never to use their PS3 again; but when the next ‘Grand Theft Auto’ comes out I’m pretty sure they’ll fold and forget all about what happened in April.
Compensation For What Happened
The makers of our beloved PS3 came out with a ‘Welcome Back’ incentive that gave us members of the PlayStation Network free PlayStation Plus membership for a month; which I thought was pretty cool and then they also decided that we could get our hands on a couple of downloadable games for absolutely nothing. If Sony had not persuaded us enough they then offered us a years’ free subscription to an identity theft protection program. I thought all of this was pretty generous to be honest and if you think about it, it would have cost them millions and millions of dollars to offer so many people around the globe this much; it just goes to show they care about their gamers and that my friends, is how it should be.

In 1997 the very first game in a series that was to become known as a classic and ‘Ground-breaking’ hit the gaming scene and since then the makers have never looked back. The graphics were a far-cry from the realism we are used to and expect these days; the first Grand Theft Auto gave you a bird’s eye view of the streets and it wasn’t easy to maneuver your character around while creating chaos by shooting people and stealing cars.
For almost Fifteen years this game has dominated the gaming charts and has made the makers very rich thanks to the time and effort they have put into it for us.
GTA History
Let’s take a brief look at the games and when they came out on the PlayStation (This will give you an idea how well-loved they are):
Grand Theft Auto (PS1), London, 1969 (Known as an ‘Expansion Pack, 1999 – Grand Theft Auto 2, Grand Theft Auto III (PS2), Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3), The Lost And Damned, Chinatown Wars, The Ballad Of Gay Tony, Grand Theft Auto V (release date unknown)
It’s clear this amazing game is so popular that the makers just want us to come back for more, time and again; they work hard to keep us happy by coming out with a whole host of ‘Extra’ games such as Liberty City Stories, Vice City and the like while they are busy making the very next in the series.
The GTA V Trailer
The makers of many of the Grand Theft Auto games ‘Rockstar’ recently launched a trailer for the latest installment of the series known only as ‘Grand Theft Auto V’; there were rumors that the game is based in France because of the shape of the city and surrounding areas but this was quashed when the lucky few got to see the trailer for real.
As you can expect, the graphics and realism in this game is second-to-none and you will get only the best gaming experience that Rockstar proudly delivers every time they bring out another game in the GTA series.
Ok, so I’m not going to keep you in suspense any longer about Grand Theft Auto V and where it is based; the game takes place in present-day southern California and when you get your hands on the game you will be playing a guy who has moved to the area to live on the right side of the tracks; he’s done with the bad times and wants to settle down; maybe have a family and do all the things that traditional family oriented men do. But it wouldn’t be the GTA we know and love if the guys’ life was an easy and quiet one now would it? With the promise of loads of shoot-outs, explosions, and of course a load of scantily-clad women parading themselves in the red light districts of the town; you know you are going to get a great experience as soon as you turn your PS3 on and start this game up.
The release date
With any luck Rockstar won’t keep us waiting too much longer but until they officially announce the release date we cannot know for sure. I did read somewhere that trailers can be released up to a year before the game comes out and even though that seems too long to wait; in the meantime I’m going to occupy myself by re-playing the other GTA games in the series so I get a great taste for them once again.

These days you can do so much more than just play games on your PS3, you can read news from around the world and even play against those that live in many different countries. Now you have the opportunity to play against opponents that you only dreamed of competing with, so those that are at the top of their game are never far away and you can get the chance to beat them and become one of the top players in your field.
Look for the games:
if you’re specifically looking for a game that lets you play against others that aren’t just in the same room as you but in completely different countries then you need to check the back of the packaging to make sure that it says you can; thankfully most of the newer games now let you have the chance to do this and all you need to do is register with the PlayStation network so that you can.
More than just games:
These days you can do more than connect with and play against other people through the games on your PS3; now you can catch up on the latest news that is happening all over the globe thanks to ‘Life With PlayStation’; this feature provides you with channels that you can use just like the ones you would on a regular television but for now the channels are fairly limited to news, weather and a space science and engineering center; this may not seem such a big deal when there are consoles that let your surf the web as if you were on a computer, but the focus of the PS3 is all about your gaming experience which is not a bad thing.
More about the games:
One of the really great things about the PS3 is that you don’t have to go out and buy the games anymore; you can now buy them direct from the PlayStation store which is basically a virtual store that sells a whole load of downloadable games and more. The store itself is totally free to enter and the content is updated every Tuesday and Wednesday depending on where you are in the world. Here’s what else you can do:
- Fancy checking out a movie trailer? You can so this by visiting the PlayStation store and downloading it

- If you want a specific theme for your PS3 you can get it here too; so you can be happy with the colors and the look of your screen every time you turn your console on.
- Not all the content on the PlayStation store costs money; you can get some really great free things too; so it’s worth having a look at least once a week to see what you can get your hands on.
Since 1994 when the very first PlayStation came onto the market there have been so many changes and advances in your favorite console; just imagine what you could do on your PS3 in a few years; it’s a very exciting time for all PS3 lovers out there.
